Giveaway: Hodgson Mill Gift Card

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I can not recommend purchasing products from Hodgson Mill’s website. The winner of my  gift card emailed to let me know that everything on the site was costing way more to ship than the actual product (she would have paid over $30 in shipping to use a $25 gift card). After looking around myself, I realized the same thing (some shipping was upwards of $80 for a few bags of flour). The people at HM did not offer to waive or discount the shipping, and I would not have done the giveaway had I known the gift card couldn’t even be used.

Recently, the people at Hodgson Mill reached out to me to see if I would be interested in creating an original recipe for the holidays, but making it healthy using whole wheat flour. You know that I love to use whole wheat flour to make things healthier, so I said yes!

I have used HM products in the past, and have always been happy with their products. I was really excited to find out they have an organic line, which I was not previously aware of. I can’t wait to try it out!

I haven’t decided on my recipe for the contest yet, but I will be posting it when I do (in the meantime, if you have any suggestions for things you’d like to see me make, let me know!).

In addition to sending me some flour to enter the contest, Hodgson Mill is also providing a $25 gift card to one of my readers, to use at their online store.

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment telling me what you’d like to buy from the HM store.

The deadline to enter this giveaway is Friday, November 25 at midnight CST. The winner will be announced early next week.

Disclaimer: Hodgson Mill is providing the gift card to a reader, but they did not compensate me for this post. They did send me flour to create an original recipe, which will be posted soon. The ideas expressed in this post are my own.

  1. I would be interested in their whole wheat pancake and baking mix, and trying some of their pastas.

  2. I’d love to buy some cornmeal to make polenta and cornbread with all the chili I’ll be making this winter!

  3. There’s lots of things I’d be interested in trying, but I’d probably end up buying some gluten free mixes for a friend who was recently diagnosed Celiac.

  4. I think I might put it towards that 9pc glass mix and measure set. I am forever washing out my measuring cup part way through my recipes.

  5. I think I would try their semolina and bread flour, although the whole wheat buttermilk pancake mix looks tempting as well!

  6. My really good friend is allergic to gluten, so we always have to be careful what we feed her when we have her over for dinner. I’d like to buy some of the gluten free things to try baking things she can eat!

  7. I love their whole wheat pastas but my favorite are their lasagna noodles. It’s hard to find whole wheat lasagna noodles but I do love to cook with them when I get my hands on them.

  8. I would love to try the Hodgson Mill Pastry Flour and the Semolina Flour. And then there is their Whole Wheat Flour, and……Oh! It’s hard to decide what to try first! Would love their cookbook, I’m sure.

  9. I’d buy some gluten-free cake mix, jazz it up with frosting and fillings, and send the final product to my gluten-free friends in Oregon (one of whom has celiac’s disease)! They’re always looking for new gluten-free goodies and I’d love to test some baking out on them. Win-win! Thanks for the giveaway!

  10. I’m not a baker but I’ve bought their ready-made pasta and it was surprisingly good.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with. With your talents, I know it’ll be good.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  11. I would love to try their couscous…just tried it for the first time in a restaurant and loved it!

  12. I don’t think I have ever had couscous before and have always heard great things about it so I think I would try a couple. The baking mixes also look really good.

  13. I would love to get some of the semolia flour. But I could buy just about any of it and be thrilled 🙂

  14. oh my.. I would never know where to start! I have been dying to try homemade pasta with the girls though, so perhaps some semolina flour??

  15. I’ve only ever used their flours and meals, so I would love to try a different product – very likely the Apples & More Muesli!

  16. I would buy their whole wheat flour because I bake bread daily for my kids!
    Thanks for this splendid giveaway

  17. I would love their organic cornmeal. And what I need most of all is the Anchor Hocking Glass Mix/Measure Set, as I’m down to one glass measuring cup! Thank you.

  18. I would take advantage of the GF line. I’d love to try the Gluten Free Buckwheat Cereal with Milled Flaxseed and Gluten Free Multi Purpose Baking Mix and Gluten Free Apple Cinnamon Muffin Mix with Milled Flax Seed. thanks.
