Welcome, Zachary!

The lapse in posts on my blog hasn’t been due to my usual laziness, but to our gorgeous new son – Zachary David.  Zachary was born on April 2nd at 9:39 p.m. weighing in at 8 lbs. 1 oz and 20.5″ long – although, at his first pediatrician’s appointment they measured him at 21.5″, which I think is more accurate because this little boy is LONG!

We are totally in love with him and can’t believe how cute he is.  In this pic, I only caught the tail end of his smile, but I can assure you his smile will make anyone and everyone smile. 🙂

Sure, we’re still learning as new parents and have had some, “oh my god, we don’t know what we’re doing!” moments, but for the most part, we’ve been adjusting to this new little person in our life well.

I do have a few recipes I didn’t have a chance to post before Zachary’s arrival, so hopefully I’ll have a minute to post those at some point, but please bear with me as the new posts probably won’t be as frequent for a while.

Welcome, Zachary!

  1. Congrats! He’s gorgeous. I am new to your blog, and since I read new-to-me blogs from the very beginning, I didn’t know you were pregnant. I’m sure everyone’s told you this, but here it is again from a total stranger: savor every single moment. My “baby” (also named Zachary) will be 9 next month. (His last single-digit birthday! How did that happen???!!) I just got a call from the school: please bring him some more pants; he ripped out the knee (practically down to the ankle). That’ll be you before you know it!

  2. Congratulations – he’s gorgeous!

Do enjoy every day with him – you have so much magic and wonder ahead of you, and before you know it, you’ll be asking yourself where the time went!

    (My baby is 21.)

  3. Congratulations to you and your family Elly!!!!! In answer to Chrystals comment about savouring every moment. My daughter is now 22 and has a life of her own so they do grow up quickly…in a blink of an eye!

  4. Congratulations! Enjoy him, post later. I will miss your great recipes but better that than to have you miss a moment with that handsome fellow! Much happiness to you and your family.

  5. He’s beautiful!! Congratulations! I’ve been a reader for awhile, but don’t think I’ve posted 🙂
Almost makes me want another one (…almost) hahaha 🙂

  6. Συγχαρητήρια! Να σας ζήσει ο Ζαχαρίας! (if the Greek font doesn’t come through, Congratulations and Na Sas Zisei!) Zachary is so cute! I’m very happy for you.

  7. What a gorgeous baby, congrats! My son is 4 and I still have many “what should I do?? moments 😉 Enjoy baby, hope our cold spell will be over soon so you can take some walks together.

  8. Congrats to your family!!! Little boys love their moms — it’s the best! Mine is about to head to college and I still remember balancing him on my shoulder like it was yesterday! (and he will still say “I love you” on the phone when no one is around…)
